Everything is personal, even politics

The world isn’t black and white—but politics is too often reduced to that. We are always placed at crossroads: Left vs. right. East vs. West. Good vs. evil. That’s not analysis—it’s marketing.

Nor is politics is limited to what happens in parliaments, presidential palaces, or international summits. It’s in the cost of your groceries, the hashtags on your Twitter and Instagram feeds, the wars you’re told to care about—and the ones you’re not. It’s the quiet deals made behind closed doors and the loud protests in the streets. It’s in who gets heard, who gets silenced, and who gets to speak at all.

At Primarily Speaking, we’re not here to play it safe. We’re here to break down global politics without dumbing it down. From coups and constitutions to climate diplomacy and culture wars, we’re covering it all—without the spin. We’re not chasing the hottest take. We’re pulling back the curtain. What you’ll find here is context, contradiction, and complexity—because real politics is messy, and meaningful.

We’ll move between continents, ideologies, and headlines, connecting the dots across the seemingly disconnected. Because no issue is ever really isolated. And no political story is ever just about “them.”

This blog is for anyone who’s ever thought, “There has to be more to the story.” There usually is. And we’re going to dig into it.

So whether you’re here to challenge your worldview or sharpen it, welcome. Pull up a chair. Let’s talk politics—the personal kind.
